Even though I’m a physicist and have been programming computers for over 50 years, when I first started my business, I was overwhelmed with setting appointments, creating a list and posting on social media.  A digital assistant company turned me on to these tools, and it has made my life easier ever since.  It brought order out of chaos.  And I didn’t even need a website to start. 

Today, I'm breaking down three free game-changing tools that will transform how you do business.  And I’m giving you a bonus tip in case you need that too.  

Tool #1: Calendly - Your Booking Powerhouse

Let's talk Calendly. This isn't just a scheduling app—it's your personal booking assistant.  You can start for free and set up a link for people to book themselves.  It will also send out reminders for your phone appointments.  You can also meet via video with what’s app or Facebook conferencing, both free.  You can include all the details on your booking page.  

No more endless email threads trying to find the right time.   No more need to carry a calendar around with you.  It coordinates with your apple, outlook or google calendar and puts all the information there for you to refer to.  

You also get a booking link that you can put on your social media sites, your business card, and elsewhere.  Make it easy to remember.  

It then collects their details, making it easy.  If you were to upgrade to a paid version (it’s about $8 a month), you have many more options.  But the bottom line is, clients book themselves and you get their details.

Tool #2: Canva - Design Anyone Can Do and Look Professional

The best way of attracting attention is images and video.  It didn’t use to be easy.  The old way of creating images was using tools such as Photoshop or another graphics editor.  Colors, sizes, file types were complicated and yielded less than ideal results.  

Now we have tools like Canva.  There are others out there, but Canva is in the forefront and is an amazing all around tool.  You can create stunning graphics for every kind of social media site, YouTube thumbnail images, banners, talks, videos, logos, and so much more.  You can post to your social media directly from within the tool.  It’s easy to use because of the thousands of stunning templates that are already there.  You just put your words in and some branding and voilà, you have totally professional looking images.  

And it’s free!  

Of course, the paid version is amazing too.  Canva is not about being a design genius. It's about looking professional without losing your mind.  Zero design skills are required.

You even have the possibility of creating your own images with AI within the tool.  Some of the results we’ve gotten are stunning and fun, especially in the world of energy healing, spirituality, and emotional healing.

Tool #3: AWeber - Your Marketing Partner

AWeber is like having a marketing team in your pocket—without the massive price tag.  You can get started for free, up to 500 emails with all the tools.  The other free options limit your use of autoresponders and options.  You can send out email newsletters or send out your free resources to potential clients all from within the tool.  You can also create landing pages and forms that you can place on Facebook or anywhere else for that matter.  In fact, it integrates with Facebook quite well.  

Why do you want this?  Regular emails help keep you top of mind with your former and potential clients.  Send them out weekly or biweekly tips, free gifts or content they could use.  Having a free gift, like a checklist or guide for how to choose a healer or coach, for example, will help you stay on their radar.  Having the option of creating a landing page and having a web address or URL for it allows you to put the link on your business card and on your social media profiles.  

This actually makes the need for a full-blown website to start a business unnecessary.  You could put all that information on your Facebook professional page, meaning your contact information, your phone number (tip, you can get a free google voice number to text and get messages on), your booking link, your free gift URL and more.  Communicating off social media is essential to growing and sustaining a successful business.  It doesn’t have to be as complicated as you might think.
